A Little About The Woman behind Watts Up Blog

A little about me for now, because you will learn a lot more as time goes on. I was born in Lake Havasu City, AZ and raised in Parker, AZ. It’s about a distance of 35 miles between the two. This was not a huge commute for my family because my father owned an auto body business in Lake Havasu. This area is a destination for tourism around the country. We are known for the floating dock bars, off road community and the original London Bridge. You know, the one that was falling down?

Growing up

My mother was a single mom for the first 8 years of my life. Until my stepdad had moved in with us from Southern California to complete our family of three! Parker is a 1 sq. mile town and unless you have a boat or an off-road vehicle, there is not a lot to do. I grew up playing any sport or activity I could get my hands on. Looking back, it was the best choice I made. I watched many friends choose the wrong path in life by getting lost in the activities and friends they chose to hang with.

BATON TWIRLING

Some people have no clue what this sport is. Some ask if it’s that sport with a metal stick that you throw in the air. And thats what it is my friend! In fact, I was fortunate enough to get a scholarship to become a majorette at the University of Arizona, marching with The Pride of Arizona Marching Band. I was the first in my family to attend college. This was a learning curve for all of us because none of us knew what to do or expect.

ADULTHOOD

I lived in Tucson, AZ for 10 years. This is where I grew into a young adult and learned a lot about my self and society. Moving to a bigger city from a 1 sq. mile town really opened my eyes about the world we live in. Currently I am residing in Tennessee where I have been able to experience life in a whole different part of the country.
